Fall Academy

Since 2016, the Leadership Academy has been fostering education and leadership development among our membership. Its goal is to strengthen members’ workplace and political activism, so that they can inspire others to push for change in their communities.

Following a record number of applications received for our 2018 Summer Academy, a Fall Academy was introduced to accommodate about 200 members who are passionate and dedicated leaders. The five-day program ran from Nov. 27 to Dec. 1, 2018.

Members stayed at the Hilton Mississauga Meadowvale Hotel in Mississauga, Ont. Members all participated in a full-day certified mental health training program and then headed to one of two streams: facing management and organizing your workplace. The evening programs for members to connect included a truffle making workshop, a movie night, a bingo night, and a karaoke night.

Summer Academy

“I expected that I would feel comfortable with other members. But I didn’t expect how much fun we would have. The Fall Academy has been so much fun and so wonderful. It is very obvious that SEIU Healthcare put a lot of effort into this program.”
