During this year’s provincial election, on June 2, 2018, SEIU Healthcare held a politically-focused Leadership Assembly. The goal was to educate members on the importance of voting. Members shared their experience with the Team Up campaign and participated in mock parliamentary skits.
One of the sessions educated members on the importance of using social media effectively to get their message out. Members also attended break-out sessions by region to develop a five-day action plan leading up to the election about encouraging their colleagues on becoming more politically active.
